Jet2.com is delighted to announce the opening of our four year Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme for 2024. Commencing in September, this creates a great opportunity for highly motivated and driven Engineering Apprentices to join our Team.

What Will You Be Doing?

Through a combination of classroom and workshop learning, in addition to hands on experience with live aircraft, the Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme provides an outstanding opportunity to start your Aircraft Engineering career in a friendly, customer focused environment. Whilst gaining a formal Aviation Qualification, you will also have the prospect of developing a long term career with an award winning leisure Airline and tour operator.

What qualifications will you obtain?

Qualifications

The Apprenticeship and qualification you will be studying is “Aircraft Maintenance Fitter/ Technician (Fixed and Rotary Wing)”, which is made up of the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 Diploma Aerospace and Aviation Engineering (Foundation Competence)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Aviation Maintenance (Development Competence)
  • Level 3 Diploma in On-Aircraft Maintenance Category A
  • CAA Aircraft Maintenance Licence Category A, Part 66 modules and practical training through our own approved Part 147 Training Organisation


During your Apprenticeship you can also apply for an Apprentice Affiliate Membership of the Royal Aeronautical Society.

The Apprenticeship is primarily based at our dedicated training facility within our Engineering Maintenance Hangar at Manchester International Airport, with practical training taking place throughout our network. Throughout your journey you will be supported and mentored by our dedicated Engineering Apprenticeship Team.

We are looking for people who are genuinely passionate about Aircraft Engineering. You will need a positive, forward thinking attitude and a customer facing approach, and we will recruit only those who are prepared to make a significant commitment to their own development and career.

What Do You Need To Apply?

  • You must be 18 years of age
  • Five GCSEs at Grade C or above (or Grade 5 and above in the new GCSE grading structure)
  • This must include Maths, English and a science or technical subject
  • You’ll also need a talent for practical subjects
  • Desire to learn and develop your skills
  • Willingness to relocate as required
