Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Transportation Continuous Improvement Senior Manager (Level M) to lead the Transportation, Warehousing, & Logistics (TWL) Continuous Improvement team in Seattle, Washington, Everett, Washington, Mesa, Arizona, or North Charleston, South Carolina.

This senior leadership position will report directly to the Senior Director of TWL and will manage a team of over 50 employees focused on transformation and continuous improvement. There are five primary teams that will report to the Sr. Manager. These teams cover many aspects of the TWL team to include implementing a Transportation Management System (TMS), onboarding a 4th Party Logistics (4PL) Provider, data analytics, dangerous goods compliance, and transportation network optimization. This role is heavily involved in transformation and the right candidate would be experienced in change management and have an in-depth understanding of transportation and logistics.

This is a vital role to lead a team of highly skilled managers and team members. It is a diverse statement of work that is critical to enabling our airplane programs and driving long-term production stability. This position will also have frequent interactions with executive leadership and with executive level external partners.

The ideal candidate is a team-oriented leader with experience in managing teams in multiple locations, supporting complex project implementation, and supporting critical demands from programs. They will have experience with creating KPIs and evaluating and adjusting performance based on them. They will understand how to manage budgets and project schedules and will be proficient at compiling information and presenting to senior executives.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Leads over 50 employees and 5 managers in supporting a diverse and complex set of Transportation, Warehousing, and Logistics transformation efforts.
  • Will successfully deploy transformation in the transportation space, including implementing a Transportation Management System, onboarding a 4th Party Logistics Provider, and creating processes to ensure stability for airplane production.
  • Leads transformation warehousing projects, interfacing with internal customers, and supports an ongoing warehousing statement of work.
  • Manages the team’s budget, to include headcount and non-labor.
  • Leads the Systems and Data Analytics team, providing support on transformational projects across the transportation space, and provides data analysis to support business needs.
  • Leads the Inbound Planning Team, focused on improving the transportation network in terms of transit time, cost, and sustainability.
  • Collaborates with numerous production stakeholders to ensure appropriate levels of support.
  • Collaborates with internal and external entities on project requirements and support, ensuring all projects get deployed on time.
  • Collaborates and interacts with Boeing IT on systems requirements associated with transformational projects.
  • Creates and monitor KPIs related to efficiency and performance and recommend / implement changes when needed.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals associated with the Continuous Improvement statement of work.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.


  • 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):


  • 10+ years of experience leading teams
  • 5+ years of experience supporting manufacturing and/or engineering business partners
  • 5+ years of experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders
  • 5+ years of experience in planning and support working in logistics or transportation
  • 3+ years of experience in project management


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):


  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience of direct experience with Dangerous Goods statement of work
  • 3+ years of experience leading systems and data analytics related statement of work
  • 3+ years of experience with warehousing support, planning, or project implementation
  • 3+ years of experience with lean processes

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Seattle and Everett, Washington Summary Pay Range: $170,100 - $207,900

Mesa, Arizona Summary Pay Range: $159,300 - $194,700

North Charleston, South Carolina Summary Pay Range: $159,300 - $194,700
