Embraer Asia Pacific is seeking to recruit a Buyer for the Asia Pacific region.


Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for procurement activities for the Asia Pacific region. You will ensure compliance with company policies, controlling purchasing risks while maximising cost efficiency. Additionally, you will establish strong relationships with vendors and effectively manage contract agreements. You will also provide support and contribute to the development and execution of global procurement strategies and processes.


You will be responsible for the following but not limited to:


  • Establish and implement purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure alignment with the company's policies and compliance requirements for every transaction.
  • Study and understand the relevant supplier markets, manage the relationships with key supplier-partners to deliver stable, value-added services and products through partnership and strategic agreements.
  • Closely monitor market trends and benchmarks to identify opportunities arising from new product offerings and/or market shifts. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities, such as supplier entry or exit and changes in pricing and execute strategies to achieve cost savings and avoidance.
  • Responsible for the entire procurement workflow:
  • Sourcing for qualified suppliers in the market to fulfil business requirements.
  • Conduct bidding and auction processes effectively and efficiently.
  • Negotiate favourable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Review contracts and make amendments accordingly in a timely manner.
  • Perform risk management actions towards purchasing contracts and agreements.
  • Obtaining Legal’s endorsement for agreements.
  • Supervise and monitor the delivery of goods/services purchased, ensuring compliance with contractual terms /agreement signed.
  • Responsible for all aspects of contract administration, which involve tasks such as drafting, reviewing, negotiating term revisions with vendors and internal legal teams, obtaining signatures, filing, coordinating the exchange and delivery of contract-related materials with clients, maintaining contracts database, and documents for special terms.
  • Conduct analyses related to contract improvements for existing terms and conditions, ensuring records are kept updated and all relevant parties are fully informed of contractual obligations.
  • Perform due diligence for new vendors and renewal to always ensure validity.
  • Develop and maintain good vendor relationships to introduce new services for the company or close gaps in performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of procurement activities with business requirements proactively.
  • Develop and manage key peer relationships to support knowledge sharing and work optimisation for procurement processes.
  • Assist in special projects, including process improvement projects and cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Manages contracted categories across Embraer entities nationally and reviews market trends and benchmarking.
  • Enforce Procurement Policy and Guidelines across Asia Pacific.
  • Train new/ existing employees on procurement processes to ensure adhere to procurement and contracting policies and processes.
  • Stay updated on industry developments and best practices in procurement activities.


Desired Skills and Experience

We are seeking to hire a professional with a Bachelor in Finance, Business, Operations Management or equivalent qualifications with at least 4 to 6 years of solid experience in procurement activities. Experience in the Aerospace industry would be advantageous.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of substantial experience in procurement activities.
  • Ideally, around 4 years of experience in preparing, negotiating, tracking, and overseeing commercial proposals and contracts.
  • Strong understanding of procurement methodology.
  • Proficient in drafting, managing, and following up on commercial proposals and contracts.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in negotiation skills.
  • Possesses keen business insight and result oriented
  • Strong time management, prioritisation and organisational skills.
  • Quick to grasp new concepts and willing to share knowledge.
  • Possesses a global perspective on business and technology.
  • Independent, reliable and resourceful
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively, including in remote team environments.
  • Able to work under pressure with strong commitment to meet timeline.
  • Proficient in MS Office/Project, Ariba, SAP or similar technology.
  • Proficient in Excel, including advanced features such as V-lookups, pivot tables, and macros.
  • Fluent in English.
