Job Summary

Porter Airlines is currently seeking a positive and detail-oriented individual to join our Flight Operations team as a Technical Writer. As part of our Technical Writing team, you'll use your organizational skills and writing ability to create and maintain our company manuals and technical documents. Adaptability is key as you'll need to quickly learn new subjects to accurately communicate information.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with subject matter experts to create, edit and publish documentation related to policy, procedures, forms, and training material
  • Revise and maintain all Flight Operations manuals and documents in accordance with IOSA standards and internal/external audit findings
  • Maintain an organized and secure document control system
  • Regularly review and revise existing documents to ensure accuracy, currency, and relevance
  • Ensure all manuals and documents adhere to regulatory requirements set forth by aviation authorities such as Transport Canada and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
  • Actively seek feedback from users and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in documentation
  • Active participation in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operation; understand comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Operations Manager

Qualifications

  • Diploma, Certificate or undergraduate degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Aviation Management or related field
  • One to three years technical writing experience and document management experience
  • Experience in aviation or a regulatory environment is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel as well as Adobe
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills in the English language
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • Able to commute to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Office (CYTZ)
