Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 100 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with engineers in the quality verification process of aircraft and electromechanical systems
  • Provide leadership and help mentor staff to diagnose and solve problems and build capabilities
  • Provide inspection support to ensure aircraft and their components are conforming to the engineering requirements
  • Provide throughput support to improve the planning and execution for inspection
  • Work with Engineers and Inspectors to implement viable Control Plans
  • Assess organization chokepoints in the inspection process and suggest improvements to management
  • Identify risks, opportunities for improvement, and non-compliance with the Quality Management System
  • Provide support for troubleshooting of various quality systems, tools and processes
  • Document processes for how work gets done
  • Investigate problems, determine root causes and implement valid corrective actions

What you need:

  • 8+ years of related experience in a technical field, with 5 years of Quality experience
  • Bachelor's degree or 15 years total experience in a manufacturing or quality role
  • Ability to provide off-hours and on-call support
  • Understanding of AS9100 requirements
  • Must have extensive experience using shop tools and calibrated aerospace tooling
  • Understanding aircraft safety, tool control, FOD, and industry standards
  • Experience working in a product development environment
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Google suite
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and highly regulated environment with adaptability to changing priorities
  • Familiarity with precision measurement equipment control and calibration
  • Familiarity with First Article Inspection requirements
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Great communication skills, curiosity, and a high attention to detail
  • Able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted

Education

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Preferred bachelor's degree in a technical discipline

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of IPC 610/620
  • Familiarity with AS9100
  • Experience as an auditor.
  • Experience working with an MES and ERP system
  • Experience with electric aircraft
  • Experience with high voltage wiring, batteries, and electric motor controllers
  • Aircraft configuration management and conformity experience

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company's business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $93,840 - $105,400. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
