The SAP Technical Architect role will be pivotal to modernising the technology around our employee offer and developing a high-performing team who have the tools, skills and knowledge to deliver successfully in a constantly changing environment.


Main Duties

The role of the SAP Technical Architect is to support the design and govern the SAP technical landscape especially focusing on the newly contracted for SSO SAP BTP environment; ensuring that it enables the SSP business strategy, aligns to the enterprise architecture and delivers high quality, effective, benefits driven and efficient solutions.


The role reports into the Corporate Solutions Architect. The role will also be responsible for contributing to the architecture community, adding value to the practice through continuously improving process, standards and sharing cross functional knowledge.

The primary focus of this role is owning the SAP Technical architecture related to SAP implementation which specifically control inventory and cash management, finance, property, and legal solutions.


Skills / Knowledge

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of Master & Transactional Data within a Retail environment
  • Experience as a solution architect in a large multi-country, multi-tier organisation
  • Extensive implementation experience within an SAP Retail environment expert in SAP Cloud platform (BTP)
  • Strong technical expertise, with a good understanding of integrations between modules and applications
  • Excellent understanding of the SAP product roadmap
  • Experience of working within Hybrid SAP landscapes with SAP S/4 HANA, SAP Cloud Solutions and other Analytics and Data platforms
  • Knowledge of Intelligent Enterprise capabilities desirable e.g. Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence etc
  • Knowledge and experience in any of SAP Build Services, Integration Suite (SAP Graph), SAP Data Intelligence and Datasphere
  • Knowledge and experience of architecting, developing and managing integration platforms (e.g. Mulesoft)
  • Strong understanding and experience in how to architect global solutions with local compliance
  • Ability to provide direction and thought leadership to guide and advise in a complex systems environment with a strategic mindset


Desirable:

  • Specific experience in retail and/or food & beverage industry and familiarity with its common business processes
  • Experience in architecting multi cloud solutions
  • Experience in architecture processes and methodologies e.g. TOGAF
  • Strong experience in additional business solution domains of property and legal
  • Experience working internationally, or for international organisations with different languages and cultures
  • Language skills (bi-lingual or more)
  • Experience using open-sourced software and development libraries.
