Astronics PECO, located in Clackamas, Oregon, designs and manufactures highly engineered commercial aerospace interior components and systems for the aerospace industry. We specialize in Passenger Service Units (PSUs) which incorporate air handling, emergency oxygen, electrical power management and cabin lighting systems. We also manufacture a wide range of fuel tank access doors that meet stringent strength, fuel sealing and anti-corrosion requirements.

We are seeking to add a Chromate Operator to join our great team.  This position will be on day shift with a regular schedule of Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm.  Overtime maybe required occasionally.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (others may be assigned):

  • Performs titrations and measures pH balances in chemical processing area
  • Loads parts into racks, submerges in cleaning and chromate tanks, monitors and unloads
  • Consistently follows chemical safety practices
  • Empties, cleans, and refills chemical processing tanks
  • Treats waste through neutralization, filtration, and evaporation
  • Hand cleans, sands to remove burrs, trims, taps, straightens, and bonds using a variety of machinery to alter shape
  • Degreases parts by placing product in parts washer
  • Operates micrometers, dial and digital calipers, dial indicators, veneer and thread gages, go/no-go pins, hand held sanders, grinders, drills and taps
  • Visually inspects surfaces for flaws and smoothness and makes adjustments accordingly
  • Wraps, packs, and labels product for final shipment
  • Sandblasts parts using a sandblaster cabinet
  • Maintains area for cleanliness, including, sweeping, cleaning, and washing of equipment
  • Ability to wear full face respirator and supplied air hood
  • Operate overhead cranes
  • Tracks inventory of materials used in area
  • Attends Quality Manual Standards Training and applies Quality Standards accordingly
  • Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly
  • Reports consistently to work and is on time
  • Able to work an eight hour shift.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One to two years of previous Chromate experience and/or training is preferred
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to perform basic math computations such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
