SR. MANAGER, STARLINK ENTERPRISE AND GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTS

Starlink represents the world’s most advanced broadband internet system, with over 5,000 (and counting) satellites capable of providing great connectivity anywhere on the globe. Today, Starlink is sold in over 90 markets, on all continents, and has 2.5M+ customers.

In addition to a robust e-commerce/consumer business, Starlink has strong and growing Enterprise and Government business segments. The Starlink Account Management team serves as the primary point of contact for customers from contract signature, through successful activation, and ensuring contract commitments are fulfilled. Additionally, the Account Management team is responsible for growing the value of accounts under management. A key challenge will be maintaining a culture that both maximizes customer happiness and minimizes the input required by the team, while leading the development of new enterprise tools, products, and levels of service/support. This role will focus on customer segments including fixed-site enterprises, land/sea mobility, community gateway, resellers, retailers, and public sector accounts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Grow and build the enterprise account management function within Starlink
    • Hiring and leading an exceptional team
    • Identifying and building necessary tools and capabilities to manage accounts, working closely with the Application Software and Finance teams to automate as much as possible
    • Developing internal goals and metrics/visualizations to measure and communicate success
  • All aspects of non-technical project management for commercial enterprise account
    • Working with internal and external stakeholders to finalize commercial enterprise contracts, serving as a final check before contract signature to ensure we are poised for success and any risks are captured/communicated/addressed internally
    • Ensuring that contract deliverables are delivered on time and meeting contract requirements
    • Taking an extreme ownership approach to realizing forecasted revenue on or ahead of schedule
    • Identifying and broadly/loudly communicating readiness levels, requirements, schedules, and risks
  • Own the customer interface from contract signature onwards
    • Building relationships with customer points of contact to identify requirements and manage expectations, driving revenue realization as quickly as possible
    • Collecting and communicating customer feedback internally to influence and steer programmatic and technical development required to maintain and grow enterprise business
    • Lead commercial decision-making, including assessing schedule, financial, licensing, legal, and reputational implications. Develop and improve decision-making within your team, including influencing peer/partner teams within SpaceX

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years working with customers to sell and/or support a technical product/service
  • 5+ years direct people management experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or business
  • Exceptional customer interface skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to tailor communications appropriately to level (working-level to executive-level) 
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to delight customers and continue to grow account size/value after initial contract signature
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly and successfully grow an excellent team, including ability to develop and coach team members
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere
  • Active TS/SCI clearance

ADDITIONAL REQUIRMENTS:

  • Must be available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support critical milestones or operations shifts
  • Must be willing to travel to other SpaceX offices and customer locations as needed
