Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a software architect that has the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to determine software requirements and lead a team to develop multiple platform solutions using real-time, embedded, software systems such as GreenHills INTEGRITY-178 (tuMP), Lynx OS and VX Works RTOS. In addition the architect will work with internal program teams and external customers to address software performance, schedules, resources and certification.As team lead, you will be setting team milestones, deadline, and schedules, and managing the team Agile process from an EVMS perspective.
Essential Functions:
- Knowledge of embedded Linux or other RTOS, Linux device drivers, Real-time/Low-level software, Bootloaders, BSPs, Built-In-Test, Flash Devices and drivers for peripherals such as Ethernet, 1553, RS-422, ARINC 615, ARINC 429, PCIe, USB, SPI, I2C.
- Skills and Technologies: Linux/Linux Engineering, Bash/Python, Network and Communication Protocols and Topology, DO 178 / DO 254 / ARINC 653 / ARM SOCs / GPU / OpenGL.
- Working within our software verification group this individual will be responsible for the following activities:
- Setting up automated building of embedded system images, including kernels, networks stacks and applications provided by the team.
- Setting up and debugging communication between target and host machines.
- Primary responsibility for managing customer communications to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products
- Responsible for successfully leading a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in a growing business area.
- Develops, oversees, and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
- Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.
- Must have ability and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment on quick reaction projects and will have regular contact with customers.
- Participate in a development team that uses agile methodologies combined with mature software practices and a technology-supported development infrastructure.
- Senior C/C++ embedded systems developer that understands Software/Hardware co-design, Distributed systems design, and Software / Computer Architecture.
- Communicates within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts. Develops or champions new systems, concepts, or technologies. Recommends tactics and strategies that directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results.
- Recommends tactics and strategies that will directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results. Establishes tactics for group with short- to mid-term impact on results (e.g., 1-2 years). Recommends new products, processes, policies, standards or operating plans in support of job function strategy.
- Knowledgeable of safety-critical software development industry standards.
- Experience on complex systems with a focus on mission computing, memory systems, and/or displays.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 12 years of software experience or Master's and 10 year's of experience. In Lieu of degree, 16 years of software experience.
- 5+ years leading a software development team.
- 5+ years of experience of C++ development using Agile methodology with iterative cycles.
- 2+ years of experience working in Linux.
- Experience with Earned Value Management
- Experience in hardware/software integration programs
- Experience using tools such as DOORs, Jira, Confluence and Sharepoint.
- 3D graphics & compute API knowledge and experience (OpenGL, and/or Vulkan).
- 3D graphics & compute driver knowledge and experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with a variety of scripting and software languages (i.e., C++, C, Perl, Python, Ajax) on RTOS.
- RTOS (Real-Time Operating System) experience with VxWorks or GreenHills.
- Proficient experience with DO-178 and ISO 26262.
- DevOps CI/CD pipeline experience.
- Scrum Master experience.
- Secret clearance
In compliance with Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $135,000 - $251,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
