About Our Team...

Airbus Helicopters is the world’s largest helicopter manufacturer and the company’s site at Oxford Airport is Britain’s civil helicopter hub.

AHUK offers considerable experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance and spares support. Its in-house engineering capabilities include design, customisation, installation, flight-testing and certification, as well as technical support, maintenance, training and the supply of spares for civil and military applications.

AHUK is the MoD’s chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its No.1 Helicopter Flying School (referred to as MFTS) located in RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey).

Description/Overall purpose of the Job

At Airbus Helicopters Oxford, we are looking to expand our current team due to an increase in workload. The appointed project manager will be required to support our Operations department working on transformation, site move, infrastructure, resourcing and scheduling projects.

Main responsibilities

  • Project management for the Operations team.
  • Day to day management of projects.
  • Planning and scheduling of the projects required.
  • Controlling work activities between multifunction teams.
  • Monitoring spend and schedule adherence.
  • Reporting, both internally and to the customer.
  • Risk monitoring and control.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Change Management.
  • Project planning and controls.
  • Earned Value Management.
  • Experience as a PM on transformation projects.
  • Commercial understanding.

Desirable

  • Background within an aviation environment
  • Experience in a 145 environment.
  • Continuous improvement.

Essential

Education, Qualifications or Training

  • Formal project management training at practitioner level - APMP, Prince 2 etc.
  • Qualification relevant to Aviation.
  • UK driving license

Desirable

  • Lean Six Sigma

Additional Requirements

  • Due to the nature of this position you will require DBS Security Clearance and be current SC clearance.
  • Applicants must meet any/all requirements of Export Compliance Regulations.
  • Applicants must be willing to travel as part of the role. (The role requires 10% travel)
  • Due to the nature of the role, there is no availability for hybrid working. The role is based 100% on site.
