Start your Jacobs career with a company that inspires and empowers you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow and succeed – today and into tomorrow.
At Jacobs, you will work for a company that strives to provide opportunities for employees to learn, grow, and thrive. As an Archaeologist, you will work on a variety of projects in the Southeast and throughout the United States. Your primary focus will be contributing to cultural resources work in Georgia and other Southeastern states, primarily on transportation, energy, and water resource projects. In addition, you will provide desktop and field-based cultural resources support for planning, engineering, and construction services to government, military, and commercial clients in various locations. The Archaeologist career path provides the opportunity to work on projects that require compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and other federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
As an Archaeologist, you will serve as a team member working with historians, scientists, engineers, project managers, and other project staff across business sectors and practices in the company. You will conduct archival research, background record reviews, archaeological fieldwork (Phases I-III), analyze project impacts as part of Section 106 and other regulations, contribute to agency consultation, and monitor during projects. You will analyze and interpret data; write cultural resources technical reports; contribute to archaeological treatment plans and agreement documents; and evaluate eligibility of resources for listing in the NRHP and state registers. You will also provide support to, and work with, senior-level cultural resources staff on a variety of projects and support clients during agency and tribal consultation.
At Jacobs, we’re partnering across the globe to create the best project outcomes by maximizing the design, digital technology, and support capabilities of our Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teammates.
