Position Summary

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the manhour and budget control of the Workshops activities
  • Capability and Workshop approval development
  • Communicates effectively and accurately with the cross functional team from Planning, Supply Chain and Engineering for the Workshops department
  • Ensuring the Safety and Compliance of the Workshops activities.
  • Liaises with the Customer Representatives in relation to the repair progress, agreement of manhours and standards of work of an assigned maintenance input or component.
  • Ensures relevant repair documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Retains oversight of Workshop staffing relation to aviation industry standards of servicing, defect rectification and maintenance
  • Verification of the validity of licences and authorisations held by staff assigned to the Workshops
  • Supports and participates in the professional development, training need sand performance management reviews of assigned staff.
  • Supports, and participates in, the maintenance organisations development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supports, and participates in, the maintenance organisation’s’ commercial development of the Workshops department
  • May be required to deputise for the Base Maintenance Manager.
  • Will be expected to be contactable out of hours with the company supplied phone.
  • Participates and contributes in daily production meetings and all other applicable scheduled meetings.
  • Will be expected to present reports as required in relation to any projects under his/her control.
  • Ability to manage and lead with respect and encouragement – recognising key contributions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Delivering maintenance inputs and projects to schedule
  • Line management of all staff within their agreed area of responsibility
  • Assisting STS cross functional management team as required, leading by example.
  • Provide daily team briefings, regular communications, constantly building employee full engagement.
  • Ensure the team is focussed on and maintains the technical integrity of all work.
  • Ensure good conduct, time keeping and ProMRO booking disciplines.
  • Maintaining allocated work area to the highest standards of cleanliness and husbandry
  • Performance appraisals of the team ensuring where necessary; challenge and / or training development.
  • Responsible for continued H&S ‘duty of care’ of their team, ensuring all current procedures are followed and assist with quality audit.

Basic Requirements:

  • You have a minimum of 4 years’ experience leading people in a Base maintenance workshop environment.
  • Experience of working in an Engine shop environment
  • Preferred – Hold a UK CAA B1 Licence endorsed with 1 or more type (A320 Family, B737, B757,B777)
  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule when/if required.

  • Open to obtain and maintain licenses, or certifications as required
  • Essential – Strong leadership skills with track record of building teams in complex technical environment
  • Essential – Track record of working fast-paced environments, motivating teams to be solution oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and evidenced examples of conflict resolution.
  • Technical qualifications (Degree, Diploma, Certificate, NVQ, other) Preferred Categ
