Development of a Graphical User Interface for Age of Information 6G TestbedDas erwartet Sie: The Internet of things (IoT) is attracting an increasing attention from both industry and academia, and will be a core component of next generation 6G systems. In an IoT network, a potentially massive number of low-cost, low-complexity devices generate traffic to be reported to a common receiver monitoring the situation. Relevant examples include asset tracking, industrial and environmental monitoring as well as smart cities. Sometimes, IoT devices are tracking a process (e.g. temperature variation within a controlled area). In this context, novel metrics as Age of Information (AoI) have been recently introduced to be able to capture how well the receiver is aware of the current process status. At the moment, we are developing an IoT testbed aiming at showcasing the benefit of AoI in the design of sampling and transmission policies. The internship will focus on the development of a graphical user interface (GUI) able to show the process reconstructed based on the successfully received updates, the ideal process behavior as well as AoI and other relevant metrics. The GUI will need to be integrated in our testbed environment and shall be flexible so to be adapted to more than one scenario. Das erwarten wir von Ihnen:

- Study in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or similar
- Experience with the GNU/Linux or any UNIX-like operating system: comfortable with the command line interface and installing software
- Experience in programming: C/C++ and Python and build tools: make, cmake
- Desired experience with the GNURadio and Qt frameworks
