Job Overview And Responsibilities

As a Manager, must partner with all functional areas across Marketing and Loyalty, to lead, define and collaborate with analysts to execute data and analytics initiatives that create sustainable revenue and share growth, efficiencies and cost savings. This role will be responsible for enhancing United's understanding of loyalty members and marketing efforts across the organization. The position will lead a team of data science and reporting data analytics and focus to produce reoccurring and ad-hoc reports with a focus on a more complexed analytics and data science efforts in support of robust analysis. This role requires expertise in Marketing data analytics, data sources and technology project management processes, business intuition, project management experience, and a working knowledge of analytical tools. This role reports to Senior Manager – Loyalty & Marketing Data Analytics.

  • Manages multiple projects and collaborate with analysts supporting data analytics, data integration, and reporting for the Loyalty & Marketing team; accountable for deliverables by understanding and balancing the competing demands for project scope, time, quality, and team bandwidth; responsible for tracking projects from ideation to completion
  • Creates, presents, and leads ongoing and ad-hoc project status reports to business stakeholders and IT teams, and delivers presentations to senior audiences
  • Collaborates with Enterprise Data Science, Data Engineering, and IT teams
  • Partners with business stakeholders to identify key initiatives to supervise and execute solutions to business problems using data analysis and advanced analytics
  • Responsible for output, development, and growth of direct reports as well as providing mentorship to analysts on the team

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or quantitative field (statistics, engineering, analytics, information systems, aviation management or related degree)
  • 7+ years of experience in analytical role (analytics, revenue management, pricing, financial analysis, consulting, data engineering or other relevant quantitative field)
  • 2-3+ years of experience in project management
  • Experience working with large datasets and reporting or visualization tools
  • Experience with database interface tools including SQL
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to create recommendations and tell a story using data
  • Ability to proactively manage stakeholder expectations on current and future business needs
  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative concepts in a clear, precise and actionable manner
  • Ability to manage direct report and provide mentorship
  • Outstanding writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Passionate about data analytics, strong strategic and critical thinking, problem-solving skills
  • Passionate about improving customer experience and driving incremental revenue through loyalty & marketing initiatives
  • Must be a team focused individual
  • Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in business management, analytics or quantitative field
  • Airline experience
  • Experience managing direct reports or team
  • Experience with Loyalty/Marketing analytics
  • Experience with statistical analysis and modeling including linear regression, segmentation, non-linear predictive (e.g. logistic) regression or machine learning
  • Experience with Tableau, Spotfire or other visualization tools
  • Prior management roles, preferably with analytics team
  • Prior experience with offshore teams
