Job Porpuse

As a Lounges Manager, you have full responsibility for the operations of our airport Lounges at Schiphol: Aspire, One World and Star Alliance Lounges.

For our four lounges, located behind customs at Schiphol, you will manage three Duty Managers and one Service Delivery Manager and, indirectly, the supervisors and employees. You are responsible for a balanced profit and loss account, a great service to our guests and you ensure the proper functioning of the team.

You do this in such a way that all activities and work are carried out optimally and on time according to agreed contracts. Of course, we take into account the set qualitative and quantitative standards. You will be involved in process improvements and optimizations; it is important that you are involved and that your concrete solutions are in line with the problem.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• As a Lounge Manager, you are responsible for the entire operation (P&L). 4 lounges, 150 employees.
• You will focus on service and presentation of food and beverages. You know how to retain existing guests. You have mastered generating new guests and their wishes. Of course, you pay attention to the management of (personnel) costs while at the same time ensuring a positive, driven team spirit.
• You are responsible for health and safety at work.
• You have a proven track record of success in dealing with absenteeism.
• You translate spearheads from the organisation's annual plan into objectives for the lounges. And you focus on the quality within the lounges as laid down in the annual plan.
• You focus on the internal flow of employees in order to fully exploit the potential.
• You can lead team managers clearly and with respect.
• You will report to the station director AMS of Swissport.

Qualifications and Competencies

• You are a host/hostess pur sang.
• You have a solid background as a manager in the hotel industry, restaurant industry and/or in a lounge environment.
• You have an excellent understanding of financial, HR and quality management.
• Demonstrable experience in a high-quality hospitality environment.
• You are customer-friendly, communicative, and socially skilled and you have a great sense of responsibility.
• You have excellent verbal and written skills, in both Dutch or German and English.
• You are a proactive Manager Lounge who always maintains a good overview, is stress resistant, thinks analytically, and has the ability to improvise.
• You feel responsible for fostering a good working atmosphere and team building.
