Web application development for a research data management systemDas erwartet Sie: In today's digital world, the need for web applications that help manage data has become increasingly important. These applications provide interactive tools for data visualization, allowing users to better analyse and understand complex information. With help of web applications, users can gain deeper insights and identify hidden patterns through dynamic visualization. In DLR the project “Kennwertdatenbank und optimierte Produktionstechnik für Kleinflugzeuge” (KoPf), we are developing a digital workflow from the manufacturing process to the mechanical properties of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials. One crucial area of focus is the development of techniques to manage and access large material databases efficiently. The project aims at facilitating seamless data sharing among users, regardless of whether they work from different DLR sites or with various machines. This development will encourage collaboration and enhance decision-making processes. Web applications for managing data are already being implemented extensively. In this position, you will work on the further implementation of interactive data visualization tool, primarily focusing on the field of material characterization. The results of this work will provide an excellent opportunity to experience the web application development and establish a strong knowledge in data management. The work includes the following tasks:

• create APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to facilitate communication with database, shepard (https://gitlab.com/dlr-shepard/documentation/-/wikis/home)
• design and implement timeseries analysis (i.e. interactive data visualization tools)
• document the development process, architecture, configuration and usage
  
  

Das erwarten wir von Ihnen:

• ongoing Bachelor's or Master's degree in the field of aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or comparable degree programmes
• very good programming skills in the Python
• experience in the field of web development and visualization
• experience with collaborative software development in Gitlab is desired
• personal responsibility, structured way of working and commitment
• proficient in English (written and oral)
