WestJet is currently searching for a capable and talented individual for the role of Furnishings Technician at our Calgary facility. The Furnishings Techs will ensure that the interior appearance and serviceability of WestJet aircraft are professionally maintained.

Description:

  • Fix interior snags in Boeing 787, 737NG, 737 MAX, and Q400 aircraft
  • Liaise with Operations Managers, Crew Leads and Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME), for scheduled and irregular maintenance, and clearing of deferred maintenance
  • Perform all work assigned in accordance with the instruction and procedures described in the Maintenance Procedures Manual
  • Coordinate with the Stores Department to obtain parts for repairs of interior components
  • Perform duties and tasks as assigned
  • Assign work to Furnishing Apprentices
  • Ensure a safe and tidy work area

Qualifications:

  • 4 years’ experience on aircraft interiors, removal and re-installation is required
  • Boeing overhaul and line and/or interior maintenance experience an asset
  • Be able to coordinate with Planning Department to develop work scope for heavy check packages
  • Working knowledge of the illustrated parts catalogue, aircraft applicability and service bulletins
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
  • Proven team player with ability to build rapport with coworkers
  • Possession of CAMC or CCAA certification is considered an asset.
  • An ability to meet all conditions of employment including:
      • Restricted Area Pass issued by Transport Canada
      • Ability to obtain an AVOP
      • Post offer employment test to test physical ability and fit for position
      • A criminal background check
      • As per our Alcohol and Drug Policy all offers of employment are conditional on passing a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test
