Repair Engineer
Job Description Summary The GE Celma Repair Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in repair activities, and contribute to the overall business strategy. Essential Responsibilities
Develop procedures to repair aircraft engine components in accordance with the Engine Shop Manual and technical requirements
Support the shop to keep the production flowing within the expected Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost
Develop deep study on non-conformances e provide effective process correction to prevent future failures
Work with the Cost Team and Six Sigma Team to reduce scrap rate and develop productivity projects
Create reliable and structured repair instructions and provide the revision when the Engine Shop Manual is updated
Provide clarification and support to the operational team relative to doubts and requirements interpretation
Participate on internal and external technical meetings to solve complex problems. Search for multidisciplinary interaction with the Component Repair Teams
Lead technical initiatives on the shop to support the business metrics
Available to work in shifts and multiple sites to support the production activities
Qualifications/Requirements
Technical Skills
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical engineering preferred)
Fluent in Portuguese and English
Basic understanding of GD&T and how to interpret on drawings
Basic understanding of conventional machining – parameters, cutting tools, clamp rigidity of parts, composites parts and structures
Deep understanding of inspection instruments selection, correlation of the tolerance field with the instrument resolution and gages
Demonstrated desire to develop technical expertise
Administrative Skills
Strong leadership capacity – capable to influence and direct others to achieve specific targets
Strong oral and written communication skills
Developed capacity on planning to meet the targets without supervision
Good initiative skills to employ clear direction on specific projects
Excellent capacity to conduct follow up of critical activities
Excellent capacity to manage scarce resources and time
Capable to run multiple activities simultaneously
