ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:

SITA’s common-use platform has served the industry for over 40 years, and is deployed at over 460 airport locations, used by over 350 airlines with confidence. SITA Flex is supported by SITA Global Services (SGS), which provides global business continuity through a flexible service model.

We are looking to fulfil the Linux administrator role within the team based in Cluj.

Key Responsibilities:

• Standardize System Level Architecture

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software.

• Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

• Write detailed documentation for each integration. (Documentation includes details such as: Installation, customization, backup, and troubleshooting information)

• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of Linux-based infrastructure.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Linux-based solutions that meet business needs.

• Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures to minimize data loss and maintain business continuity.

• Automate system administrative tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

• Automate System Implementation, leveraging processes and tools proven successful in other airport products.

• Integrate Product with SITA's Cloud Architecture

• Install, configure, and maintain network services, including DNS, DHCP, and LDAP.

• Collaborate with software developers and system analysts to troubleshoot and resolve software compatibility issues on Linux platforms.

• Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve system performance and scalability.

• Provide 3rd level support.

• Ability to travel worldwide.

Knowledge Experience and Skills:

• +3 years of experience in similar roles
• Windows Server 2012 - 2019
• Experience of supporting external devices/peripherals (e.g. scanners, printers, etc)
• Good Knowledge of installing, maintaining and updating external device/peripheral Firmware
• Some Knowledge of Virtualization Technologies (e.g. ESX Server, VMWare, Hyper-V, etc.)
• Experience of Messaging Services (e.g. MSMQ, Rabbit MQ, IBM MQ, …)
• Knowledge of Redundancy/Backup technologies: RAID, NLB, Tape Backup, NAS etc
• General SAN Management. (including iSCSI, MPIO, etc.)
• Understanding of Power Shell scripting would be useful
• Strong communications and documentation skills
