The Senior Manager, Value Stream Leader, OCE and eFAST, leads a large program platform and drives strategic planning. The Senior Manager manages P&L, collaborates and leads contract negotiations and spearheads solutions for program risks. The Senior Manager oversees a Collins Management System cross functional team including Human Resources, Contracts, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Aftermarket. The Senior Manager is also responsible for customer satisfaction with Pratt & Whitney.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This role is unique in that it allows access to the whole value stream of the business from proposal to field support
  • The Senior Program Manager reports directly to the 17K/24K/OCE Program Director up through the Program Executive Director to the President of Engine Control Systems (ECS)
  • This role is like the “glue” holding the organization together throughout the program life
  • This specific role is important to the organization as the OCE and eFAST business sectors are important parts of the Large Commercial Engine (LCE) business. The OCE segment is predominantly fielded product while the eFAST system is implementing a change from 3G to 4G cellular technology to the Airbus A220 fleet, a growing application in the Pratt and Whitney PW1000 Geared Turbofan engine family.
  • The Senior Program Manager’s main role is to drive an already dedicated program team to complete tasks on time and on budget and to ensure that the value stream provides the target investment return to the business
  • Lead cross functional team
  • Leads large programs to ensure adherence to program plans, schedules and budgets.
  • Establishes milestones, develops and owns program plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitors allocation of resources.
  • Reviews and presents plans and progress reports, monitors the presentation of value stream strategy, progress, and results.
  • Develops new business growth strategies. Drives strategic planning efforts for a complex program.
  • Leads continuous improvement including initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Identifies and reacts to program problems and recommends solutions, such as allocation of resources and changing contractual specifications, and assists in resolution development for escalated problems.
  • Drives/leads responses to customer action items.
  • Assists with leading the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operational budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization’s interests.
  • Interfaces with customers for project specifications to ensure successful completion.
  • Establishes cost focused performance targets and directs work to achieve these targets.
  • Work with the internal team to solve problems to drive customer delight
  • Regular presentation of plans and status to customers and executives
  • Set and monitor annual budgets
  • Support of customer and supplier proposals and negotiations
  • Drive product cost to lowest possible target to achieve performance

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks, resolving complex problems, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget to customer needs.
  • Demonstrated history of achieving business results leading a cross-functional team
  • Successful history and experience working in teams, programs and projects through influence
  • Experience with Aerospace manufacturing
  • Experience in engineering development implementing strategies to achieve quality, delivery, and cost performance targets
  • Production customer experience

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
