Material Handler Supervisor

What You Will Be Doing

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Material Handler Supervisor to oversee our materials handling operations. This role involves supervising a team of employees who use various equipment to move materials within our facility. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to promoting safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees who use equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, carts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products within our plant, office, or warehouse.
• Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
• Oversee the unpackaging and storage of supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Determine appropriate containers and wrapping methods for materials to be shipped or stored.
• Provide direction for daily operations, actively assisting or providing guidance to subordinates as required.
• Develop work assignments and assess performance to ensure projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and work plans.
• Act as a point of contact for questions or issues, interacting with senior internal personnel on significant matters.
• Ensure execution and continuous improvement of processes and procedures, developing solutions to complex problems.
• Support corrective action investigations, root cause analysis, and implement innovations and process improvements.
• Maintain 6S/lean processes for the area of responsibility.
• Assist with other duties as required by the Warehouse Leadership Team.
