Overview:

Collins Aerospace, Bangalore office is looking for candidates to join as senior lab technician for aircraft actuations systems and electronic controller products. This member will work very closely with electronics laboratory to assemble electronic PCB, soldering, Wire harness build.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Basic knowledge on electronic components and other basic Lab accessories. Capable to read electrical and mechanical drawings. Performs automatic and manual testing on products. Performs electrical, mechanical, and safety testing on products and subassemblies.
  • Knowledge and implementation of IPC Standard process for soldering and de-soldering. IPC J-STD-001 Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies.
  • Ensures assemblies meet visual, mechanical, electrical criteria of design documentation, standards, and inspection documentation.
  • Knowledge on usage of basic measuring equipment like multimeter, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal analyzer, Function generators, AC and DC power supplies, Automated Test Stands.
  • Soldering and de-soldering capabilities on through hole, bare board, IC packages and SMD packages of basic components like resistors, capacitors, inductors etc., Rig-up the prototype circuits on general purpose PCBs to evaluate its functional performance and document the results.
  • Maintaining calibration details of lab equipment and get the calibration done before due date expires. Able to follow written work instructions and completes necessary paperwork accurately. Review records for device traceability and compliance.
  • Knowledge and implementation of IPC Standard process for soldering and de-soldering. IPC J-STD-001 Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies.
  • Capable of wiring the Manual / Automated Test fixture internal and external wiring given in the circuit diagram. Capable of debugging the boards / units by understanding the circuit / test fixture design.
  • Regular maintenance of test equipment such as Power Supplies, Automated Test Stands and Test Fixtures. Test equipment troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Maintain Lab inventory with standardized documentation process. Coordination of TPM, AMC/Preventive maintenance, Calibration, operator walk-around checks of testing machines and ensuring adherence to 5-S standards and housekeeping in test lab area.
  • Detects problems and initiates corrective action to control non-conforming material and product and assists in problem-solving.
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements. Aware of ESD protection.
  • Experience with test fixture and test cables/harnessing design and fabrication advantageous.
  • Capable of building power and signal cable harnesses. IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • ITI or Diploma in Electrical and Electronics with 4 years of relevant experience OR
  • Degree with 1 years of relevant experience
