Aircraft Avionics Technicians

STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Avionics Technicians in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Avionics Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing various avionics equipment installed in aircraft. They will possess strong knowledge of avionics systems, including radar, communication, navigation, autopilot, and compass systems. Additionally, they will demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues with avionics equipment, while adhering to safety protocols and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and adhere to required PPE regulations within assigned production area.
  • Inspect, test, adjust, and repair avionics equipment using hand tools and test equipment.
  • Conduct tests under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose defective components based on analysis of test results and technical documents.
  • Possess strong knowledge of glass cockpit avionics systems, wiring diagrams, wiring needs, and wiring practices.
  • Assist in routine build and functional tasks within assigned production area.
  • Operate required tooling, machinery, and equipment following established safety rules.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures to maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of aviation experience in aircraft wiring installations, wiring repair, terminations, and avionics functional tests preferred.
  • A&P and/or other related license highly desired and may be required in certain positions.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong communication and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter and SAP is an added benefit.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and overtime.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Familiarity with the basic function of all aircraft systems.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Capability to stand for a 10-hour shift and routinely climb stairs/ladders.
  • Capacity to work for extended periods in tight spaces and/or awkward positions.
  • Ability to comprehend and adhere to management directions and safety instructions with no restrictions.
