The Tax team is responsible for managing the tax affairs of the easyJet Group, including the preparation of tax returns and payments across the business. We are seeking an enthusiastic, commercially minded individual to join the team in this dynamic environment.
As our Senior VAT Assistant you will have the opportunity to develop close working relationships with all areas of the business including revenue, commercial finance and our pricing teams just to name a few – a fantastic opportunity to work cross functionally and build relationships. You will assist in ensuring that all systems across the business are set up correctly to record and report VAT and APD (Air Passenger Duty), whilst making sure that standards and processes are adhered to.
Other key responsibilities include supporting the preparation and submission of monthly UK and European VAT returns, intrastat returns and other compliance requirements in the UK and the EU. You will be the first point of contact for any indirect tax queries from the tax authorities – working cross functionally with UK and EU colleagues.
You will support and assist the Indirect Tax Manager with monthly indirect tax reporting and support with indirect tax advisory work when partnering with the business on proposals and projects. What You Need To Do The Role
To do this role you will have previous VAT experience and proven knowledge of working in a dynamic environment - plus strong analytical skills. Previous VAT experience is a must, as this is what you will be focusing on – experience doing VAT compliance is key, as this is done every month with high volume.
