ABOUT THE ROLE

 

As a Senior Product Designer at SITA, you'll play a pivotal role in crafting user-centric experiences that drive our products forward. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you'll lead the design process from discovery to delivery, through exploration, concept validation, prototyping and testing ideas, you will implement and measure solutions while meeting the evolving needs of our customers in the air transportation industry. You're a seasoned designer with a passion for UX and a desire to make an impact in the telecommunications industry. You thrive in dynamic environments, embracing innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Design Thinking and Research

  • Work as part of a team of problems solvers in the SITA Lab to help solve complex business challenges from strategy to execution.
  • Apply design thinking methodologies such as user story mapping and mind mapping to address initiatives effectively.
  • Conduct comprehensive research including market landscape analysis, user interviews, and surveys to inform design decisions.
  • Translate research findings into wireframes and prototypes, iterating upon them to optimize user experience.
  • Test ideas to assess desirability, viability and feasibility of an approach early on in the design process.
  • Communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale verbally and visually in an engaging and appealing way.

 

UX Design Process Ownership

  • Lead end-to-end UX process for a set of capabilities, from discovery to delivery.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering counterparts to define strategy and prioritize design efforts.
  • Facilitate user-centered design practices, driving quality standards and crafting experiences that delight customers.
  • Partner in the creation of UX concepts including producing prototypes and designs in various formats (Virtual Reality, Voice, projections etc.)
  • Communicate ideas through storytelling and rapid prototyping methods, ranging from paper sketching to digital prototyping.

 

Design Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead the design of complex projects through development and launch, driving product area goals forward.
  • Monitor and improve collaboration with engineers to provide product specs and assets.
  • Partner with multiple stakeholders and ensure alignment with overall design strategy and brand.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities under tight timelines.
  • Take in active role in improving our processes, standards, and ways of working.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in similar Product Design roles in a B2B environment for technology organizations, preferably within the aviation industry.
  • You bring a design thinking approach to all initiatives; you have a great User Experience and product sense.
  • Extensive experience in design field within software/product development, designing web and mobile applications.
  • Experienced with designing for complex applications, and have applied Lean UX Methodology in software development and delivery.
  • You are good at communicating the reasons behind design decisions and can interact with other roles like engineers or business profiles.
  • Experience in driving process change and optimization in UX within the development process.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced Agile setting.
  • You can create UI for different platforms with attention to details.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe CS, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and prototyping tools like Figma.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent English speaker (C1 level).
  • UX certification from recognized organizations such as Human Factors International (HFI), Nelson Norman Group (NN-Group), or Interaction Design Foundation (IDF).
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with a good understanding of human-computer interaction (HCI) and human cognitive behavior.
