Job Description

Johnson Service Group, a nationally award-winning staffing firm, is recruiting a highly skilled, independent, and determined Senior Sales Application Engineer.

The position is on-site | Direct Hire | Salary range: $110K-$140K depending on experience | Candidate must have authorization to work with in the US as our client isn’t able to provide current or future sponsorship.

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Sales Application Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing all technical discussions related to energy storage solutions, both pre- and post-sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, exceptional sales acumen, and extensive experience with Li-Ion battery systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and lead all customer-facing technical discussions throughout the sales cycle.
Forge and uphold relationships with both existing and prospective clients.
Analyze customer requirements to develop technical specifications and engineering solutions.
Design battery estimates that include cell selection, pack configuration, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and enclosure designs.
Secure customer approval on prototypes and production-ready batteries.
Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshoot issues, and service for our client base.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis to resolve any customer-related technical issues.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Chemical Engineering preferred. Exceptional skills in sales and application engineering may be considered in lieu of degree.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in customer-facing technical roles and energy storage applications.

Skills Required:

In-depth experience with Li-Ion battery energy storage systems.
Proven track record in technical sales and application engineering for batteries.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and data analysis of battery systems.
Comprehensive understanding of NMC and LFP cells, and Battery Management Systems principles such as State of Charge estimation, cell balancing, and thermal management.
Familiarity with 3D Modeling software, such as SolidWorks.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical details, trade-offs, next steps, and issues to a diverse audience.

Working Conditions:

This role is based in an office environment located at our manufacturing site.
It requires prolonged periods of sitting and extensive use of computer keyboards and mice.
