Optimizing solar energy in test benchesWhat to expect: You want to contribute to the energy transition and are looking forward to a job at the Plataforma Solar de Almería, the largest European test center for concentrating solar technologies of our Spanish research partner CIEMAT. Together with your colleagues from the qualification department, you will further develop measurement technologies that enable the cost-effective provision of solar energy for process heat systems and solar thermal power plants. You will pursue the goal of developing innovative measurement systems that initially record operating conditions in power plants and industrial facilities. You will then simulate the resulting loads on components in test benches and carry out tests to prove the required performance, operational reliability and durability of components. Your main areas of work are:

  • You will develop innovative measuring systems and test benches to enable the most realistic possible verification of the performance, operational safety and durability of components
  • You plan measurements, carry them out, analyze them and create documentation
  • You identify weak points in components and show the potential for improvement
  • You will program control software and analyze measurement data
  • You will manage work packages in our research projects and support the acquisition of new projects
  • You will work closely with international partners from research and industry
  • You will publish your scientific results in journals and at conferences

  • a very good academic degree in engineering, physics, computer science or a comparable subject (diploma/master's degree)
  • knowledge of programming and measurement technology

  • You enjoy working in a team and supervising students (Master's) and/or doctoral candidates
