Role title
Finance Data Product Manager
Your role
Reporting to the Director Finance Transformation & Data, the purpose of this role is to manage the portfolio of finance data and ensure initiatives are prioritised to drive long term value. The role will be responsible for developing the finance data strategy roadmap by prioritising the business outcomes and benefits.
The role is responsible for scaling the finance data function, supporting the build, and optimising new and existing products and services. The role will be key in transforming data into insights that inform strategy and decision making to support profitable growth. The role will also be key to scaling up the skill set in finance through training and investing in the right data tools and ensuring that the wider finance teams are trained and using these tools to their full potential.
The role will have a strong understanding of Finance data and the interaction of the financial hierarchies from the core financial systems (including the new SAP 4/Hana system) The role will guide the finance directors on best practice, new tools, skill sets required within the teams and how to transform the finance team into being a Data Driven Organisation.
The Finance Data Product Manager will:
- Translate the wants and needs of the Aer Lingus finance team into clear data requirements.
- Develop and implement a clear Product vision and roadmap and identify the right products/ resources to implement that roadmap.
- Take the Business outcomes/ requirements and works with the technical data teams to translate those requirements into smaller tranches of deliveries for the tech team using agile methodologies.
- Prioritise the delivery of each data product, to ensure the outcome of the initiative has been realised and that value and benefits are extracted.
- Hold the technology team to account to ensure transparency in terms of delivery with clearly defined solutions and delivery paths.
- Coordinate the testing of new initiatives with end users and ensure from a change management perspective that the new data product delivered is fully utilised by the team to its full potential (decommissioning old manual ways of working and appropriate training to take on the new ways of working).
- Build up the analytics capability across the finance team and empower the teams to transform and take on new ways of working.
- Be an advocate for change for the finance transformation program and help drive adoption of SAP 4 Hana and take advantage of new data sources available that can be brought into the Snowflake Global Data Platform.
- The role will work closely with technology counterparts to define the data architecture for the finance landscape, ensuring the necessary platforms, data sets, pipelines and experience layers are connected optimally to be able to implement various defined digital use cases.
Your qualifications and key criteria
- Strong analytical skills, with ability to analyse issues and their root causes.
- A strong background and understanding of finance processes and terminology.
- Ability to formulate solutions to problems and present recommendations for approval.
- Strong personal credibility e.g to facilitate building and maintaining external relationships, with a view to identifying best-in-class finance processes.
- Ability to document and support complex business systems flows.
- Flexible, adaptable and able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
- Tableau or PowerBI certified.
- Snowflake or dimensional data modelling experience.
- Previous SAP/ SAP 4 Hana exposure would be useful.
- Experience supporting a large finance function.
- Ability to guide and advise the wider team on data best practices and tools.
- Proven Project Management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Be in possession or be able to obtain an airside security pass.
- Eligible to live and work in the EU.
- Current unrestricted worldwide passport.
