ROLE SUMMARY

The Ramp Manager at Swissport Cargo Services Belgium is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing operational activities on the Ramp, with a focus on ensuring safety, quality and customer satisfaction. This role requires excellent leadership, operational management and communication skills to ensure smooth and streamlined operation of loading and unloading operations. The Ramp Manager reports to the Station Director.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, motivate and coach the rampteam to achieve operational objectives.
  • Oversee all ramp loading and unloading activities, including coordinating ground personnel, equipment and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational procedures, safety rules and regulations.
  • Preparation of operational schedules and planning to ensure optimal deployment of personnel and resources.
  • Coordinate activities with airlines, ground handling partners and other stakeholders to ensure smooth handling of cargo flights.
  • Anticipate operational challenges and proactively implement solutions to minimize disruptions.
  • Perform regular checks and audits to ensure that operational processes comply with established standards and procedures.
  • Develop and implement improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including internal teams, airlines and external partners.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the company to create synergies and achieve operational objectives.
  • Function as a liaison with upper levels of management to report operational performance and challenges.
  • Coordinate and lead GSE fleet with support from the GSE Coordinator to assess operational needs and determine optimal deployment. Collect and analyze GSE-performance, cost and utilization.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in aviation or logistics management.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role within the aviation or cargo industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of operational processes and regulations related to cargo handling.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 operational environment by participating in the standby Manager on Call.
  • Good knowledge of Dutch, French and English is essential.
