The Operations Data & Insights Manager, reporting to the Head of Operational Planning, collaborates closely with analytical and performance teams across the wider operation. This role aims to leverage data science and analytics to drive continual improvements, particularly in mitigating major disruptions, and offers analytical support to the Operational Planning team.

The responsibilities cover several key areas. In insights delivery, you will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to deliver insights and actions aimed at enhancing safety and operational/financial performance. In data science and analytics, you’ll champion advanced data projects such as machine learning to drive profitability and performance improvements. You will also lead data projects and analysis, ensuring thorough decision-making processes and seeking standardisation and automation opportunities. In terms of visualisation, you will assist in designing and delivering data analytics dashboards and presentations, facilitating knowledge sharing across teams. Lastly, you will lead the Operations Performance Data Science and Analytics team, identify talent and development opportunities, and collaborate with Data Engineering/IT teams for robust data capture and improvement.

What You Need To Do This Role

Leadership qualities are paramount, including the ability to manage and motivate teams in a cost-focused environment. You will have prior experience in either airline, consultancy, retail, ecommerce, transport/logistics or FMCG sectors, demonstrating a strong delivery track record. You should hold skills in airline operations or similar exposure, with a sound understanding of business operations and the ability to navigate cross-functional teams.

Additionally, you should demonstrate determination to continually seek process improvements and embrace Agile methodologies. Competence in data analytics, including knowledge of the Data Science toolbox and Big Data technologies, is essential. Exceptional communication skills are needed to understand stakeholder needs, present clear benefit cases, and drive data-driven transformations.

Location & Hours of Work

This is a full-time 40 hour per week position. We support hybrid working and we spend three days per week in the office.
