What You’ll Be Doing
- Responsible for designing and developing key Mechanical systems within the Underwater Weapons sector
- Provide technical engineering support to mechanical engineering design activities for new and legacy products
- Undertake functional design and/or provide qualification and evidence for acceptance, fitness for purpose, regulatory & legislative requirements, and safety
- Provide support for assurance that the design is adequate i.e. it is robust, and provide supporting documentation for the safety case
- Attend and contribute to design review discussions/meetings
Your skills and experiences:
- Understand the principles and approaches underpinning mechanical engineering design and development of systems, sub-systems, assemblies, and components
- Requires good communication skills; must understand technical instructions and be able to communicate technical information to others
- Desirable to have experience in one of the following: Thermal Systems, Fluid Systems, HP Systems, Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Desirable typically be at CEng level (or equivalent level of capability) or in the final stages of achieving CEng status
