Job Description

At Leonardo, we have a fantastic new opportunity for a number of delivery Program Managers. Reporting to a Sector Vice President within the (CS3) Line of Business, this is a fantastic opportunity to lead a multi-disciplinary team at a senior level.

The Programme managers will work in partnership with all CS3 business functions to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and financial performance for LoB.

What You Will Do

As a senior member of the CS3 LoB, you will be key in delivering elements of the LoB strategy ensuring improvements within the business.

  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction is driven within your area of responsibility
  • Work in the interest of the LoB, manage cross programme/portfolio dependencies and synergies in support of increased business performance through prioritisation and balance of resources across the business area.
  • Establish, build and influencing internal and external stakeholders and use business management skills to deliver business results at LoB.
  • Anticipate, mitigate and manage Business Area dependencies, risks and synergies in support of increased business performance. Through the prioritisation and balance of resources.
  • Promote Business Area Strategy, objectives, encourage positive relationships, develop effective team working, empower and inspire individuals.
  • Defines and implement strategy and standards for the Business Area.
  • Manages the business area execution and control activities against the strategy. Contributes to the development of the strategy for the division.
  • Actively participates in PM forum or equivalent governance group (UK/cross division) to ensure best practice, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Accountable for delivering on financial commitments
  • Ownership for delivery and performance of the programme
  • Using leadership skills to form an effective IPT in line with the requirements in the IPT framework.

  • Self-starter and highly motivated and able to set short and long-term planning goals in line with business needs.
  • Output oriented with focus on achieving clear and ambitious goals.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Be capable of confidently briefing to senior stakeholders across industry, government and the military
  • Knowledge of working in a global matrix organisation with complex reporting structures in an Integrated Project Team (IPT).
  • Able to develop strong, trusting relationships at all levels within the business and externally and be able to influence effectively at a senior level.
  • Demonstrable collaborative/team behaviours.
  • A capacity to overcome barriers and enact change.
  • Commercial and financial acumen and negotiation skills .
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others through change and periods of uncertainty. Provide clarity when the outcome is not known.
  • Typically meets the requirements for registration as a certified member of the Association for Project. Managers or equivalent (AcostE, MAPM, PMI, , Association of Proposal Management Professionals).
  • Typically meets both the knowledge and experience based competency levels of the Programme Manager (Master) as defined by the APM Competency Framework
