Company Overview

West Star Aviation , in partnership with STS Technical Services , is seeking a skilled Aircraft Interior Finisher to join its team in Grand Junction, Colorado. This role focuses on executing high-quality interior cabinetry finishes that meet our rigorous standards and client expectations.

Position Summary

As an Aircraft Interior Finisher, you will be responsible for applying various wood finishes, including gloss and satin, to aircraft interiors. This position requires a blend of skill, precision, and an understanding of finish processes to develop and complete luxurious aircraft cabinet finishes.

Essential Functions

• Perform paint and finishing techniques for major aircraft modification projects.
• Accurately identify and match colors for project requirements.
• Work independently on detailed finishing projects as needed.
• Apply knowledge of stains, lacquers, clear coats, and other finishing materials.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop and its surroundings.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs on shop facilities, equipment, and tooling as required.
• Understand and implement dry sanding, wet sanding, and other finishing processes.
  
  

Job Specifications:

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is preferred but not required.
  
  

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in aircraft cabinetry finishes or a related field.
• Proficiency with various chemicals (thinners, catalysts, cleaners, etc.) and safety procedures.
• Basic knowledge of paints and spraying equipment.
  
  

Initiative

• Self-motivated with the ability to maintain a high pace of work.
• Capable of processing work with minimal supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
