Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated SQL developer to join the analytics and information management (AIM) team of Pratt and Whitney. You will be working collaboratively to deliver strategics data driven initiatives in respect of best-in-class data management principles. You will play an active role in designing and building big data pipelines and enabling the technologies to create the efficient data flows required by various application databases and analytics datamarts in a wide variety of areas across the business. This role requires a good understanding of SQL, databased design, data modeling and ETL development with SQL server integration service.
Key Responsibilities:
Design application databases with efficient and normalized databases schemas
Design, write and deploy data pipeline developed in SQL server integration services (SSIS)
Development of data transformation to support business intelligence (BI) reporting
Collaboration with database administrator (DBA) to optimize queries and database performance
Participate in technical planning session with solution architect, Product owner and application developers
Practice disciplined software engineering (e.g. automated testing, code reviews, and writing beautiful and pragmatic code)
Documenting database design and dataflow to ensure proper knowledge transfer, collaboration and improved supportability of the system.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering.
2+ years of experience working in SQL development
Experience with MS SQL Server and SSIS.
Experience working in a collaborative project using version control system like GIT
Strong understanding of agile methodologies and the usage of a project management platform like Jira or TFS
