Position Summary

The Copywriter, Marketing prepares copy and content that clearly and cleverly delivers the JetBlue Travel Products (JTP) brand and user experience (UX) messages in the appropriate voice and tone for a wide range of Marketing and communications projects. The preferred candidate understands the fundamentals of Marketing, is a well-rounded writer and is eager to innovate using their words and creativity.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Strategize and develop copy and concepts for high-level, big idea projects.
  • Craft original, “on-brand” copy and develop creative copy solutions for a wide range of Marketing projects, including website content, email campaigns, sales collateral, promotional materials, signage, merchandise, presentations, articles, blogs and social media content.
  • Maintain the unique brand voices of JetBlue Vacations and Paisly by JetBlue.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and creative teams, from concept development to delivery of final product.
  • Responsible for how JTP and JetBlue are positioned and promoted across a range of marketing channels through the brand voice.
  • Ability to author guidelines and be a strong brand advocate.
  • Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation. Consults with Crewleader on unique situations which do not have clear precedents.
  • Review copy and provide feedback as needed.
  • Provide copy for social branded content as needed.
  • Work closely with the Graphic and UX Designers to develop copy to complement a variety of internal and external design requests (signage, promotional materials, websites, etc.).
  • Proof-read and copy-edit all written materials, primarily for Marketing but occasionally for other JTP teams.
  • Ensure all written materials meet brand and logo guidelines.
  • Work with Marketing business partners to proof and approve all written materials to ensure accurately and appropriately represent the JTP and JetBlue product and brand.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Experience And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, English, Journalism or Media Studies; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience.
  • One (1) year of copywriting experience in a marketing environment, preferably in an advertising or Marketing agency handling travel, hospitality, or consumer goods industries.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Google Products.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and recommendations to peers and senior leaders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%).
  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for a visa sponsorship.


Preferred Experience And Qualifications

  • Experience with a content management system.


Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • In-person work environment Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Additional in-person days, as needed.
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice.
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance.
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft.
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun.
