Lead B2 Aircraft Engineer

STS Aviation Services is hiring a Lead B2 Aircraft Engineer in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Position Summary

STS Aviation Services is looking to recruit a Lead B2 Aircraft Engineer at our Manchester hangar. The Lead B2 Aircraft Engineer derive their authority from and report directly to the appropriate Hangar Manager. This is an exciting time to join STS Aviation Services.

Job Duties

• To provide a central point of control and allocations for the Avionic staff in the facility
• Agreeing targets and milestones with the Check Managers on all Lines of maintenance
• Utilisation of resources to achieve schedule departure of all aircraft
• Co-ordination of all avionics staff within the base, drawing up a daily work plan to deliver the aircraft input on time
• Allocation of tasks and responsibility within the facility
• Monitor performance against plan, provide regular briefings, guidance and support to allocated staff as necessary
• Work with Check Managers and B1 or B2 Certifying Engineers to identify impending problems and generate solutions
• Provide updates to Check Managers on any issues impacting their work plan to targets, proposed solutions, next steps within their plan and future work allocation Accountable for the conduct and time keeping of all allocated staff whilst employed within the facility
• Assist and advise Check Managers in managing issues such as time keeping, discipline and productivity
• Assist the Check Managers with individual development including carrying out formal appraisals and advising on suitability for further training or development Responsible for continued H&S ‘duty of care’ of their team, ensuring all current procedures are followed
• Assist with quality audit and support the implementation of robust closure plans
  
  

Basic Requirements:

• Part 66 Licence B1, B2, B1/B2
• Indentured apprenticeship or equivalent in an aviation engineering or similar mechanical engineering field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a technician
• Demonstrate a desire to progress and fully embrace STS core values.
• Show strong supervisory skills and an example setting approach to work. Preparedness to undertake additional responsibilities in the Check Managers absence, or as requested take on additional activities and projects outside of normal scope.
• Preparedness for covering Shift Lead / C Certifying responsibilities; including but not limited to leading the team, managing priorities and critical path tasks, lead daily production meetings, oversee daily progress reports and be accountable for the technical integrity of work carried out under your control. #Must be able to work in a dynamic environment and be flexible to meet changing working requirements
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal & supervisory skills
• Full UK Driving licence Essential
• Knowledge of MS Office applications
