The role
As a Network Engineering Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will lead and develop a team of engineers developing and implementing new services on the UK MOD Skynet satellite.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • Manage the team in developing, testing and implementing a new service on the network
  • Lead, develop and recruit team members to address changing technologies and customer requirements
  • Support the development and implementation of new services and technologies, attend and lead design reviews, and ensure knowledge transfer into the team
  • Support the service delivery team in agreeing service capability and specification

 

This position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role.

 

This role is full time, 37-hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with three days in the office/onsite and two days working from home. 

 

Essential experience of the Network Engineering Manager

  • Significant experience in the defence or telecoms industries
  • Demonstratable experience in managing an engineering team.
  • Good knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP/Internet Protocol (IP) systems and technologies, and synchronous and asynchronous communication protocols
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills

 

Qualifications for the Network Engineering Manager

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering Discipline
  • Cisco Accreditation- CCNA or above
     

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
