An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Lead to become part of our team. You will enable the creation, translation and consumption of data-driven insights to help Rolls-Royce and our customers make better decisions - increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the services that we and our customers deliver. You will support data products and systems that enable our customers to make better decisions in their everyday activities based on the most accurate and reliable information available.
You will work as part of the Civil Data Platform team that is transforming ideas and concepts into customer solutions. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership and contribute to project development and operational support of both data products and infrastructure. As part of supporting the Civil Data Platform you will help maintain the quality and integrity of the customer experience through your technical knowledge. You will be familiar with Agile and DevOps principles and able to quickly adapt to using new technologies and systems.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
What you will be doing:
- You will be instrumental in realising the digital strategy by solving technical challenges and enabling digital solutions to be delivered.
- You will provide support to solution architects, enterprise architects, and delivery leads through technical insight and leadership.
- You will become an integral part of the digital team and be involved in every step of the full project delivery life cycle.
- You will work across a diverse range of operational activities and be comfortable in taking on new challenges.
- You will proactively champion continuous improvement and technical excellence within the delivery teams.
- You will be responsible for enabling the transition of solutions into full service from a technical perspective.
Who we are looking for:

- Experienced with Azure, Azure DevOps and Git or similar experience with an alternative leading cloud technology (i.e. AWS/Google cloud).
- Experience and interest in Big Data technologies.
- Experience and interest in reporting technologies (e.g. Power Bi, Cognos).
- Experience and interest in database technologies (e.g. Databricks, Dataiku, Azure Data Lake).
- Experience of providing technical leadership as subject matter expert to support project delivery.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Process orientated mindset.
- Active learner, both within your technical and professional area of expertise, taking control of your own career development.
