Reporting to the Senior Manager, Commercial Data, the Commercial Data Developer is responsible for supporting Revenue Management, Sales, Network Planning and Alliance data teams by preparing data assets for reporting consumption. The individual will create/modify and monitor automated ETL scripts which merge/aggregate and prepare commercial data for downstream reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop SQL and scripts to merge and aggregate data for the purpose of reporting or to feed commercial applications.
- Develop SQL views of Commercial data assets for use by Commercial BI teams.
- Monitor automated jobs to ensure data is available and accurate.
- Extract and/or load data from AC or 3rd party systems if required.
- Prepare and assist in prototyping new data assets for BI consumption.
- Monitor data exchange between AC systems and 3rd party if required
- Responsible for documenting back end ETL scripts and usage which are created/supported by the commercial data team.
Qualifications
- University degree in related field (Mathematics, Statistics, BI, Operations Research, Computer science) or 5 years of pertinent experience in a similar position
- Excellent knowledge of SQL programming is a pre-requisite
- Knowledge of Snowflake is a pre-requisite
- Knowledge of Linux shell programming is a pre-requisite
- Experience working with large data set is a strong asset
- Knowledge of travel industry data is a strong asset
- Ability to understand and relate required analysis to business implications
- Proven organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and ability to take initiative.
- Experience with MS Office applications (Excel and Powerpoint) is a requirement.
