As a Fleet & Network Airport Control in the Operations Control Department, you will be reporting to the Lead Operations Control Duty Manager, the FCNAC team are responsible for EI and EUK operational fleet management and outstation airport handling of scheduled turnarounds in real-time to protect the customer experience. Our Operations Control Department helps us to drive Aer Lingus’ ambition by scheduling and pre-planning at minus 24hrs the daily order of departure development taking account of commercial priorities, maintenance operational requirements, aircraft technical status, airport restrictions and customer experience impact.
Your responsibilities as a Fleet & Network Airport Controller will include:
Manage and monitor the status and location of the EI and EUK fleet and actively intervene on the daily order of departure to deliver on-time performance (OTP) and protect the customer experience.
Central link and co-ordination between the OCC, Maintenance Control, Dublin HUB, EUK operations teams and outstation airports to ensure operational capability for schedule completion and protection of essential planned maintenance.
Design the optimum daily aircraft order of departure taking account of commercial priorities, maintenance operational requirements, aircraft technical status, airport restrictions and customer experience impact.
Central point of contact for real-time handling agent related operational queries and down route flight crew requiring ground handling assistance and support from the OCC.
Monitor potential delay hazards by looking ahead at the operation and coordinating mitigation actions including communicating with arrival airports to anticipate requirements for speedy turnarounds.
Act as the operational link on the day between Aer Lingus operations and the operations Control of all franchise operators, partner operators and ACMI operators while monitoring on the day operational progress of each for deviation from schedule.
Manage and protect the company commercial airport slot portfolio in the live operation.
Manage and monitor aircraft movements to ensure airports are aware of short notice schedule changes, extra flights, or cancellation to avoid incurring costly fines.
Proactively monitor airport operational limitations and restrictions on behalf of the OCC and be responsible for OCC adherence to these regulatory limitations or request exemptions to enable schedule completion.
Maintain the AIMS system and other IT applications with the most up to date operational data information to ensure Crews, Ground operations teams, base stations, customers, and third-party suppliers always have real-time accurate information.
Monitor network airports on the day of operation to ensure service standards are delivered consistently. Catalogue issues fed back from crews, handling agents or other sources in a Log Tracker and identify trends and feedback to ROMS.
We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:
Include Proven ability to manage complex and unpredictable situations, while working within a pressurised environment.
A sound knowledge and appreciation of the detail and complexity of the regulatory environment governing airport operations.
A calm organised pro-active approach to the job is required with strong planning and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to work under pressure, energetic and driven to working to deadlines.
Excellent administration skills combined with well-developed planning and prioritising skills.
Strong computer skills; MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and knowledge of Aer Lingus operations systems. Knowledge of AIMS would be a key advantage.
Excellent people skills with the ability to contribute effectively as part of a team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively and convincingly with management and staff at all levels and the ability to present facts clearly and objectively.
Demonstrated ability to assess problems and make clear cut and evaluated decisions quickly for effective problem-solving to minimise disruption.
