This position is part of Operations Strategy within the Enterprise Operations organization. This leadership role creates and drives the long-range strategy for Global Operations including monitoring internal and external environments for growth opportunities. The successful candidate will drive various financial models, business alignment discussions, gated reviews, lead strategy and synergy evaluations and discussions, lead projects with matrixed team members, and be responsible for upholding the development of standard work to support strategic planning activities across Collins with special attention paid to the business outcomes for Operations. The candidate will also support and manage part transition projects globally. The Operations Director of Strategy reports to the VP of Operations Strategy and performs as part of a dynamic cross-functional team of leaders supporting enterprise Collins Operations and the strategic business units.
What You Will Do:
- Leads macro-level competitive assessments and peer group analysis
- Drives identification of revenue and technology synergies across the business units and supports their implementation as needed
- Partners with RTX on Operations initiatives and strategies to represent Collins
- Develops long-range objectives and conducts both strategy and market studies in support of the company’s senior and business unit leadership
- Co-develops Strategic Global Ops Best Cost site and supply projects with appropriate stakeholders
- Completes business cases, passport approvals, and stakeholder reviews required to launch and execute projects
- Fosters data driven decisions with SBU Partnership, to determine and recommend future suggestions for strategy options and commodity strategies
- Sustains the development of financial/analytical models that support strategic business decision-making
- Leads cross-functionally to ensure quality, engineering, manufacturing, planning, compliance, and operational requirements are met to drive strategic operational enablers
- Advances and executes the most cost effective, safe, and sustainable footprint strategies in alignment with enterprise stakeholders
- Champions operations support for major strategies in collaboration with the value streams and business development leaders
- Guides the project teams by monitoring progress of individual project business case reviews and management approval process
- Supports SBU core/non-core initiatives to optimize product cost structures and to define investment strategies
- Engages in project management with stakeholders from project initiation to effective transition to production to achieve schedule and cost
- Must be willing and able to travel 15% of the time (domestic & international)
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
- 10+ years prior experience in program management, finance or operations

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
