Air France Launches Cadet Pilot Recruitment Campaign

  • Published on June 12, 2023

Air France is launching a new recruitment campaign for cadet pilots, a comprehensive training programme entirely paid for by the airline.

After a rigorous selection process, the successful candidates will join the 80 or so cadets currently being trained at Air France's partner schools in France.

They will then be able to take the controls as First Officers on:

- Air France's Airbus A220 and A320 aircraft

- Transavia's Boeing 737 and its future Airbus A320 and A321neo.

In 2022, 135 cadets joined the 4,500 pilots at Air France and Transavia.

In 2023, Air France plans to recruit a total of 450 to 500 pilots to strengthen its teams.

Promoting diversity and inspiring vocations

The cadet programme is accessible under certain conditions, from high school diploma level for those who have passed the ATPL theory exam, or from a certain number of years of higher education for candidates with no flying experience.

It is a way of inspiring applicants from all backgrounds by highlighting the career opportunities available as an airline pilot. With 10% female cadets in the previous promotion compared with 9% female pilots within the company, the cadet programme encourages women to enter technical professions and illustrates Air France's commitment to gender equality in the workplace.

Applications are open until 31 July 2023 online at corporate.airfrance.com.

Air France is also hiring in other sectors of the company, such as aircraft maintenance, IT, data management and cyber security. All job offers are available on the corporate.airfrance.com website.
