The role
As a Buyer you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Reporting to the Project Procurement Manager the Project Buyer will have accountability, within a defined scope of materials and/or subcontract services, for the supply chain design, execution, and performance for a Business Unit’s project.
Day-to-day, you’ll capture specific project requirements and builds into supply chain requirements, as well as:
- Design supply solutions to meet project requirements and maximise performance whilst minimising risk and complexity.
- Maintain interfaces with Group and Divisional category strategies where they impact upon project.
- Manage sourcing and tendering processes in accordance with agreed project deliverables.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to ensure that the most cost-effective supply solutions are obtained.
- Ensure that the Company’s commercial position is best protected and is properly reflected within formal subcontracts and purchase orders.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with working from home and working in the office at Rosyth.
Essential experience of the Buyer:
- Experienced procurement practitioner with knowledge of current strategic procurement techniques.
- Experience working in complex project environments.
- Proven track record of delivering excellent supply chain performance.
Qualifications for the Buyer:
- Equivalent through work experience or qualified to degree level.
- MCIPS qualified or studying towards MCIPS or equivalent professional qualifications.
