Materials Manager is available in Fort Lauderdale, FL and Columbus, Ohio. This position requires working knowledge of aircraft parts purchasing and inventory control utilizing MRO systems such as Corridor, EBIS, other. Must have the proven ability to anticipate and adapt to changing priorities, working with vendors to negotiate favorable pricing. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to procurement, organization/distribution of parts/materials, receiving inspection, processing of cores, management of purchase orders.

Your Responsibilities:
- Ensure overall profitability and performance of the parts department.
- Ensure conformity with FAA regulatory requirements (Calibration, certification, shelf life, parts quarantine) and following the established standard operating process and procedures (SOP)
- Overall responsibility for inventory management and control, including compliance to core and warranty procedures.
- Oversee and mentor the Materials Team members
- Ensure initial training of new parts personnel and recurrent training as required to support all processes, duties and responsibilities, and regulatory requirements are met.
- Prepare summary reports to measure progress, purchase commitments, department budget forecasts, and other KPI’s as needed to support department decisions.
- Implementation of internal programs, e.g., communications, training, work simplification, and cost reduction for the parts department.
- Maintain conformity with work rules, regulations, and safety procedures.
- Monitor outside services to ensure on-time delivery and return of unserviceable repairs
- Ensure process is maintained for receiving inspection of parts and materials and to ensure conformity with FAA regulations, procurement requirements, and a process to identify and quarantine unapproved parts do not get stocked or issued.
- Oversee and coordinate shipping outside work requests and to expedite shipments as need to support Flight operations.
- Work within the FAA Repair Station or Air Operators Certificate (AOC) SOP’s to maintain certified and traceable parts.
- Coordinate part status of inventory, receipts, quarantined, and issued parts with requesting technician/customer.
- Ensure SOP is followed to maintain all records pertaining to each part receipt and issuance.
- Oversee periodic inventory audit and parts counts, then resolve the differences.
- Perform periodic review of all calibrated precision test equipment used by the maintenance personnel and issued from the inventory.
- Manage the calibration and repairs of all calibrated precision test equipment upon receipt of calibrated tools, notify the Chief Inspector of any discrepancies and provide calibration records.
- Ensure process to manage unserviceable part repairs with vendors follow documented SOPs and management is aware made aware of parts that are beyond economical repair, damaged or obsolete and to adjust inventory levels accordingly.
- Monitor and maintain part min/max inventory requirements, adjust as needed using data to determine proper levels are being maintained, and manage part obsolesce.
- Ensure accurate assignment and issuance of parts to Work Order and item level are managed correctly
- Ensure First in – First out (FIFO) is applied when issuing parts from inventory
- Oversee scrapping of parts in accordance with SOP’s and coordination with the Chief Inspector
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by the accountable manager.
Required Experience, Qualifications, and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- Knowledge of corporate aircraft parts preferred. Gulfstream, Cessna, Bombardier, Embraer
- Thorough knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements related to parts management and compliance.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Minimum five years parts experience working in a Part 145/135 maintenance environment.
- 2 years minimum supervisory/management experience
