The role
As a Technical Installation Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Technical Installations Manager (TIM) is responsible for the delivery of all transactional installation related Task Service activities.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead the installation and workshop team in delivery of all transactional works from small bespoke engineering through to large scale satellite ground stations builds, as well as:
- Plan and effectively resource load all transactional projects in delivery, ensuring deployment of technicians possessing the correct skillsets for effectively completion of the task.
- Support the Projects Team and the Solutions team as required in the preparation of estimates, bid documentation, specification, pricing, tender, Gate, and proposal documents for new opportunities.
- Act as the lead in respect of technical queries generated from within the team or in support of complex project scoping and delivery.
- Ensure all tasked activities undertaken by the installation team, are supported with the appropriate Health, safety and wellbeing plans and documentation; acting as the Construction, Design and Management lead for the team, ensuring safety is paramount in all tasks being delivered by the team.
- The TIM is required to check the accuracy and completeness of reports on installations carried out in the UK and overseas, for project closure and accurate data capture.
This role is full time and is based onsite at our Ashchurch site.
Essential experience of the Technical Installation Manager:
- Experienced in the management and development of multi skilled, technical teams.
- Must possess an adequate knowledge of, and compliance with the Health and Safety policies and regulations consistent within the non-domestic, electrical industry.
- Must possess (or be willing to gain) an adequate knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) 2015 regulations and be able to represent Babcock in the role of Principal Designer.
- Understanding of Defence and Security industry (desirable).
Qualifications for the Technical Installation Manager:
- Must hold a relevant HNC/HND qualification or relevant experience with an applicable qualification in electrical installation as articulated in the specific skills section.
- City & Guilds parts 1 and 2 in Electrical Installations.
- City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 certificate of inspection and testing of electrical installations.
- BS7671 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations
Security Clearance
- The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain EDV security clearance for this role.
