The Opportunity:
Under Sunwing Vacations, we are looking for a Maintenance Planner to join us in making vacation dreams come true. As the Maintenance Planner you will monitor, plan and schedule maintenance activities efficiently for Sunwing’s aircraft to ensure compliance with the Approved Maintenance Program, whilst meeting operational requirements. The position reports to the Maintenance Planning & Records Manager and will be located in Toronto, ON.
What You’ll Do:
- Monitor both short- and long-term aircraft maintenance requirements utilizing airline software AMOS.
- Plan efficient aircraft ground slots to ensure tasks and/or checks can be performed in accordance with the Airline Maintenance Planning policies and procedures.
- Consult with Production and Commercial departments to ensure that all scheduled work parameters are met by maximizing ground time for scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Ensure that adequate human resources, required materials are available at the location, facilities and third-party support have been reserved when planning scheduled maintenance activities.
- Prepare scheduled aircraft work packages, utilizing various software to produce documents. (AMOS, My Boeing Fleet, Sunwing Ops, fttp websites) and distribute the work requirements for planned maintenance.
- Highlight areas of conflicting work and ground time. Propose solutions to maintain the integrity of the flying program and reprioritize overall plan as changes occur.
- Consult with various internal departments, management, and external maintenance providers domestically, as well as overseas locations.
- Chair daily production meetings with MRO’s and service providers.
- Maintain oversight for aircraft maintenance events. Provide update to the operational and commercial departments regarding changing timelines and return to service dates.
- Participate in meetings as requested to assist the company and/or the department maintain sight of strategic goals and objectives.
- Undertake projects as assigned by the department manager.
What You’ll Need:
- Airline maintenance planning experience or related equivalent experience in an airline maintenance environment.
- Must have the ability to re prioritize work and provide suitable alternative solutions as the environment and circumstances change.
- Must be able to work under pressure, can make sound decisions in challenging situations. Must have the ability to take initiative on a given task and persist with the task to its completion.
- Working knowledge of Airline software applications, MS Office, AIMS, AMOS is beneficial to this role.
- An AME licence or equivalent related experience is an asset to this position.
- Effective communication skills: both verbal and written with an elevated level of comprehension is a primary requirement for this position.
- Work effectively as a member of the airline team.
- Willing to work in a fast paced, detail orientated environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Overtime may be required.
