Babcock is looking for a HSEQ Manager – Marine to lead theteam based in Devonport, Auckland.

As the HSEQ Manager - Marine, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the highest safety standards for our Marine Business.

Role Specifics
- $150k to $180k dependent on experience
- Full time/40 hours
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure alignment with Babcock Australasia HSEQ Management Systems, fostering a seamless integration of safety protocols.
- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve HSEQ management systems for NZ Marine operations, ensuring compliance with Australasia policies and identifying initiatives for standards enhancement.
- Cooperate, coach, and mentor internal stakeholders to ensure not just compliance but a proactive commitment to HSEQ responsibilities.
- Develop and execute the internal audit program meticulously, overseeing corrective actions and preventive measures for sustained improvement.
- Provide strategic resourcing guidance to the Senior HSEQ Manager, contributing to the robust structure and effectiveness of the HSEQ Department.
- Champion HSEQ management systems and Babcock culture, actively contributing to safety promotion, education, and training tailored to the unique needs of the NZ Marine Operation.
- Manage, direct, and investigate safety-related matters with precision, ensuring timely reports to relevant authorities as stipulated by regulations and SMS requirements.
About you
The ideal candidate for this role will hold a vocational or tertiary qualification in Health and Safety or Quality Management, backed by essential ISO certifications and extensive HSEQ experience. Your proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and conduct meticulous audits aligns seamlessly with our relentless pursuit of perfection in safety. Your expertise in leading investigations and conducting comprehensive risk assessments showcases a proactive approach, essential qualities for shaping and advancing our safety culture.
This will not be your first rodeo, and we expect the successful candidate to demonstrate a track record of experience in transforming safety cultures, as well as the ability to effectively embed safety and quality into business practices.

Key Required Skills
- ISO9001, 14001, 45001 or Integrated Management System Lead Auditor qualification, showcasing a commitment to industry-leading standards.
- At least 10 years' experience in an HSEQ role (5 years in management roles), demonstrating a deep understanding of safety dynamics.
- Experience in managing and leading multi-disciplinary teams, reflecting leadership prowess.
- Development of audit programs, scheduling, and conducting operational HSEQ audits with a keen eye for detail.
- Leading accident/incident investigations and conducting trend analysis, highlighting a focus on proactive risk mitigation.
- Conducting and facilitating operational risk assessments, underscoring a comprehensive approach to safety.
- Knowledge of Human Factors or Behavioural Based Safety programs, indicating a holistic understanding of safety culture.
