We have a unique and exciting career opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer at our Fort Walton Beach, FL site. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for researching, developing, designing, and testing a wide range of mechanical assemblies supporting power conversion electronics and power systems designed for extreme military environments. Hybrid : This position is eligible for our Crane Flex Hybrid schedule which allows for the option of up to 2 days/week of work-from-home. Responsibilities: Develop innovative packaging concepts that meet customer requirements. Support bid and proposal activity in a team with electrical design and test engineers. Lead a mechanical design team developing final drawings. Develop non-recurring and recurring cost estimates. Develop test procedures to verify compliance to requirements and design validity. Utilize Solid Modeling and Finite Element Analysis software. Direct the work of designers, drafters, and technicians as required. Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods. Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. Recommend test equipment for design verification and production testing. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. Minimum Requirements: Looking for someone with 2-8 years of directly related experience. B.S. in mechanical engineering (M.S.M.E. preferred) Solid knowledge of Solid Modeling and Finite Element Analysis software. Excellent mechanical, analytical, and technical skills. Knowledge of GD&T Excellent administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work as an individual contributor or team player.
