The Sr. Test Engineering Manager provides the leadership to and exercises overall direction and control over a design engineering section with responsibility for developing specified products. Responsibilities: Accountable for Test Engineering design and development that meets all customer specifications and company requirements for schedule, cost, producibility, and reliability Responsible for personal technical performance as well as the efficient and effective performance of assigned staff Responsible for project management work over several major projects with accountability for design criteria and concepts, planning, scheduling, cost estimating and control and coordinating all activities related to design, development, test and follow-up of the projects; generally involves directing the work efforts through assigned engineers and support personnel Responsible for managing and coordinating continuous improvement activities in their area and for recognizing and rewarding results. Responsible for direct customer contact and technical portions of proposals Acts as an expert in test strategy and other testing related matters Develop organizational operating plans and procedures within framework of department policies to achieve maximum effectiveness of assigned group Provide technical consultation, service and support to other departments and divisions as necessary Assign responsibilities to group staff, delegate appropriate level of authority, and hold individuals accountable for results Develop approach and methodology for assigned staff as appropriate in relation to complexity of the situation and ability of the staff member Interface with customers and vendors on engineering related matters Participate in or lead design and peer reviews for Test Control purchased material and manpower allocations to each program directs; assure that technical and budget goals are met Evaluate and recommend new facilities, equipment, materials and components Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor or management Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering: Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical/Aerospace, Physics or related field required. 10+ years’ related experience; 2 years’ supervisory experience Demonstrated experience with relevant standards and practices. Demonstrated strong customer orientation Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practical applications. Intensive conception and analytical ability in order to create product designs and improvements. Working knowledge of practical managerial techniques, leadership and financial management as well as all factors impacting business results Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Salary range: $191,568 to $233,147 Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
