The Opportunity:
Are you seeking a fun, passionate, travel, destination wedding-loving team? We arelooking for a Travel Consultant, to join us in making destination wedding and vacation dreams come true. As the Travel Consultant, you will work with group travel bookings, and generate customer loyalty through excellent customer service, efficiency, and expert product knowledge. The Travel Consultant manages all aspects of their wedding group travel files, including working with each guest, coordinating group files with tour operators/travel suppliers, payment collection, and all accounting about the file. The position reports to the Director, Travel & Operations.
What You’ll Do:
- Be responsible for maintaining an average group level of 25 wedding groups (average 30-50 passengers), expecting to provide individualized customer service to each guest and understand their specific needs within the group.
- Be responsible for maintaining a positive and trustworthy relationship with individual clients which will result in referral bookings.
- Create wedding invite websites for each group.
- Maintain up-to-date records on group booking forms, invoicing, and group status.
- Be responsible for all accounting and balancing of group files.
- Provide an exceptional level of customer service to guests at all times.
- Manage customer service calls/emails and respond accordingly.
- Identify opportunities to sell add-on features, such as excursions, insurance, etc.
- Process travel requests and payments with suppliers in a timely fashion.
- Review and issue travel documents.
- Responsible for maintaining current destination travel requirements and product knowledge.
- Responsible for advising clients on all destinations, documents, and airline requirements.
- Other duties assigned by management.
What You’ll Need:
- Previous Travel Consultant experience, 1 year minimum
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-starter with strong sales aptitude
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to develop tight working relationships with customers and peers
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrates initiative and customer service excellence
- Experience with TTS, TravelWorks, Sirev, and other booking engines
- Proficient in Windows Office (Email, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Experience with group bookings.
- Strong organizational and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- General understanding of accounting principles, and experience with accounting programs preferred.
- Multitasking abilities and time management are critical.
- Experience with selling excursions, insurance, etc.
- Travel Industry experience is a must, preferably with group travel experience.
- A process-driven individual with a drive to succeed.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail.
- Great team player with a positive attitude.
- TICO certification required
